        SHEILA FEIN
Born in New York and living in Los Angeles since 1987, Sheila Fein has always been inspired by the changing world around her. A student of popular culture, Sheila earned her Bachelor’s degree in Design and Painting from Buffalo State College.

However, her education as an artist has taken her everywhere from across the United States to studying in Italy and England. Today, Sheila Fein is the President of the arts nonprofit People Sketchers and has been featured in numerous magazines, books, and shows.

Her artwork is in the collections of corporations, galleries, and private individuals in the US and abroad.

Sheila’s work is a unique study of the imagination and she believes that classical drawing techniques help make the imagination a reality. Dreamlike and fantastical, her diverse body of work is filled with bright provocative images.

Although she works in many mediums, she prefers working in acrylics, colored pencil, and digital design. She feels that each medium brings a new form of expression to her style.

Fantasy Pop is how I have come to describe my work. I view the world in a fantastical and dreamlike way and I am enamored with contemporary popular culture. Everything is always new to me and I delight in experimentation. Odd moments with people, the natural world, and objects catch my attention. I seek to surprise the viewer and myself with unexpected perspectives. My philosophy is to work without the critic on my shoulder and let my imagination guide me. I am about letting go and following the strongest voice in my head.
